in the middle of 1990 got a copy of astral skies on cassete
i had heard some electric sun and early scorps in the 80s ,but my actual interest in uli was a premise and intution that i had ..that could get me to a new level on guitar, iwas right and what i found really pulled me in..i was already a student of hendrix and uli had a style that i could grasp ..i worked on songs and solos religously..and had a 6 string sky guitar built by hand in 1994..i formed a hendrix tribute band called e.x.p in which we also incorporated ulis music ..to me it was part of the same source..i faced a personal tradgedy in 1996 ..as i overdosed on a very powerful dose of l.s.d ..everything i had worked for slowly went down the tubes ..and my life was coming to an end..as i didnt sleep for almost 3 years..i didnt have a prayer in this world and i was suicidal..the one thing i did have was a desire to be healed and continue on with my journey..later i discovered the sky of avalon cd the current release at the time..i was encouraged by the story in the song .."winds of war" and in the summer of 1998 i started to recover..and i got inspired to tackle music and life again..in the course of 6 years i got focused and got my playing fine tuned and in the summer of 2004 i met uli jon roth and opened for him in san diego ..hands down a huge dream come true..in 2006 i went to the first sky academy ..i met so many cool friends ..uli directed my attention to new details ..one main distinction was that i was to intense ..something i wasnt fully aware of ..and of course thru his teaching i began my journey in transcendental meditation..since then ive went to 2 more academys ..and am now playing my new band "transcendental fury" im am currently digesting symphonic rock for europe and under a dark sky ..chopin paganini ..mozart and others..
I realize how blind spots in life can hinder so much amazing growth.. Thanx uli for showing me true power, peace, inspiration and mastery ...you will always be one of my true heros and teachers!
