Bullet 3 Red First Annual Occult Corpus Meet Up (Tennessee)

This is just the discussion thread, as I get all the details worked out....

These are the things I do know...

  • It'll be in Sount East Tennessee (Athens area)
  • It'll be in May (2010)
  • It'll be on a weekend (two days)
  • ALL are welcome (including family and children)
  • No drugs or alcohol will be involved
These are the things I need to know...
  • Which weekend is best for you?
  • Are you willing to camp?
  • Are you planning on being there?
  • Are you bringing other people (spouse, kids. parents?)
It'll be in this (Athens) area so that Cyndi and I can get things set up easier, as this is where we are. Currently we are thinking of either a local park or possibly a campground. If its a camp ground, then I want to know how many people are wanting to camp... if enough people want to camp, we can actually reserve an entire camping area for us! We'll get it reserved from a friday through a monday, and the meetup will be officially that friday and saturday....regardless of where it is at though, they all have a no drinking policy, so erm, that's out.

Once a few of these details are worked out I can get camping prices and what not.

It'll likely be a hot dog roast with jugs of koolaid and chips... I'll have a donation box to help with that (depending on how many people are showing up).

Either way, what is the best weekend in May for you to make it to the area?

I can likely get the entire campground reserved for us if enough folks are interested.

We will plan some great activities for the kids and I can most likely swing a guided hiking trip for anyone interested. I think Friday through Sunday is good. That still gives a day to play around with and for anyone wanting to stay until Monday, they can.

Everyone can bring their own food and drinks, we will spring for a roast (weenies, fixins and marshmallows). If folks are not sure what to bring, you can contact us and we can give some ideas.

If there is anything else anyone would like to do while here, just let me know. I can arrange for a group to go to some of the tourist type places in the area if some desire to do that. If some prefer a motel, there are some in the area, but you will have to provide your transportation to the campground to meet with everyone.

May is usually the time for term projects, but depending on when the day is set, and if I can talk my wife into it, I may be interested since I'm only 2 1/2 hours away

Because of final exams, the best weekend for me would be May 21/22, but the 29/30 weekend works well too.

Should we also talk about carpooling? Because it looks like I'm taking two people to cut down on costs.

Would maybe early june be better to keep finals out of things?

That is what I was thinking Q, it seems a lot of folks are in college and/or school and May is a crazy month for that. June would be OK as long as it is like the 1st weekend in June. I cannot go much later than that as we will be very busy on the farm that time of year. (unless I force everyone to come to the farm and help me plant the garden...lol)

So guys, give some imput...

Last weekend in May or 1st weekend in June? Which works best for everyone?

And Vinncent, carpooling is great, especially with the group you will be traveling with.
